THE PINNACLE OF TRACTION KITING FOR THOSE AGED 18+

Once you have mastered power kiting with the Flexifoil Sting, Control or Rage kites, you may be searching for a much more powerful kite and to do more with your kiting skills. That is where the Blade kite comes into its own. Without sounding like we want to clip your wings, if you are yet to experience power kiting or have little experience but wish for a more powerful kite to master your kite skills with, then we strongly recommend starting out with the Sting kite. Otherwise, please read on.

THIS IS A HIGH POWER KITE

This kite has been designed with power, pull and lift in mind. It is extremely powerful and as such must only be flown by kiters with substantial power kiting experience.

LANDBOARDING AND BUGGYING

The size and power of the Blade kite is perfect to pull you along on a landboard or in a kite buggy. Measuring 4.9m², this is Flexifoil's most famous traction kite for everyone aged 18 years and up. The first model was designed in the late 1990s and this is the sixth incarnation. At the time of publishing, 9924 Blade kites have powered kiters across the world.

4-LINES VS. 2-LINES

The main two lines on any power kite are used for steering. If you pull the left line, the power kite goes left. If you pull the right line, the power kite goes right.

On four line power kites like this Blade, there are two additional lines that are attached to the trailing edge (rear) of the kite. These are the brake lines. The brake lines are used for reducing the amount of kite power. You tend to find brake lines on larger power kites like the Blade because the power needs to be controlled, particularly in stronger winds.

As a side note, the lines won't tangle easily so please don't be put off by the number of lines.

LIFETIME MONEY-BACK GUARANTEE

A kite with such a long history, we know how reliable it is and thus it comes to you with a Lifetime Money-Back Guarantee. Rest assured, you can return this kite to us at ANY point in the future for a refund. That is how certain we are you will love it. Flexifoil is the only kite brand in the world to offer such a guarantee.

AVAILABLE 'KITE ONLY' OR 'KITE COMPLETE SETUP'

Traction kiters tend to own more than one traction kite, yet they do not need more than one set of control handles and flying lines. So to help save you money, if you purchase from Flexifoil Direct, you have the extra option to buy just the kite. From Amazon, eBay and other third-party online retailers, the kites are all sold as a complete setup.

IMPORTANT: Traction kite control handles and flying lines are different from recreational kite control handles and flying lines. I.e. they cannot be interchanged with the Flexifoil Sting kite. This is due to their strengths and lengths.

FOOLPROOF SAFETY SYSTEM

You attach comfy padded wrist straps (also called 'kite killers') to your wrists which are connected to the kite's brake lines via bungee cords. When you let go of the control handles, the bungees release the power lines and pull on the brake lines which immediately brings the power kite down to the ground. Connecting the flying lines and control handles to the kite is very straightforward and the instructions simple to follow. Takes approximately five minutes to set up and you can fly with confidence knowing if you need to stop the kite quickly, you are able to in an instant.

SUPER EASY TO SET UP, LAUNCH AND FLY

It can be launched by a friend or family member or you can self-launch. It gets its shape and rigidity by harnessing the power of the wind. The kite gets rammed with air through the front of the kite from take-off, through full flight and holds its shape until you land it.

30-60 MINUTES TO LEARN

Power kiting with this kite takes on average 30-60 minutes to learn and within a few hours you will be on your way to mastering the kite.

LIGHTWEIGHT AND TAKES MINIMAL STORAGE

Easily stored in the boot/trunk of your car. Packs down surprisingly small for holidays and can be easily stored in the top of your wardrobe or under the bed.

VIRTUALLY INDESTRUCTIBLE

This kite is extremely strong and can withstand incredible forces (as can all Flexifoil kites). The latest design pictured here includes no rods, poles or fixed-parts so breaking it is almost out of the question! During testing, these kites are slammed into the ground at high-speed over and over again. Each time the kite hits the ground, the air inside the kite expels and cushions the impact. Within seconds or a minute, you'll be flying again.

FAMILY FUN OR FLY SOLO

The ultimate kite for challenging yourself yet equally fun for family time and holidays or even for a lunchtime practice during the working day!

FUN WORKOUT

Kite training is a fantastic way to keep fit while having fun. Great for the upper body and particularly for your arms.
